Abstract: As a Chinese traditional artistic spirit with philosophical meaning, the formation of“harmony” originates from the deep prototype psychological structure and its activity mode which has been long settled down in the context of Chinese traditional culture. For traditionalculture, especially music education since ancient times, the integrity, organic feature, coordination and balance characteristics of “harmony” image have always been the pursuit of intrinsic value and aesthetic standard, which is of great significance to achieve the harmony of life and sound personality through music aesthetic education. It is necessary to review and rediscover its connotation in the context of collision of Chinese and western cultural and educational values, so as to provide thinking for the current Chinese music education.
