The Musical Elements in Bakhtin’s Theory of Dialogue
Abstract: Bakhtin makes a dialogic interpretation of literary discourse, especially of the discourse of Dostoevsky’s novels, by means of his theory of metalinguistics. He associates Dostoevsky’s creation with music, and, based on the two terms double-voicedness and polyphony, summarizes the dialogic characteristics of the discourse of Dostoevsky’s novels: micro dialogue and great dialogue.
