A Study on Repetition from the Perspective of Semiotics
——An Example from Master and Margaret
Abstract: Master and Margaret written by Bulgakov is one of the most influential classics in Russia and even around the world in the 20th century, in which the repetition phenomenon is extremely common. This study analyzes how the repetition principle constructs texts and generates meanings in this novel, in which repetition falls into three types: repetition of identity, of space, and of abnormal behavior.
