Improvement of Management Idea
——Painting and Calligraphy in the Early Period of the Republic of China (1912-1949)
Abstract: In comparison with the time before the Revolution of 1911, calligraphers and painters lived through the baptism and test of the market and gained huge progress in their management ideas under the social turbulence and existing pressure. Of course, the enhancement of calligraphers’ economic consciousness and management ideas, however, did not merely lie in the skill of using remunerations. This paper discusses the improvement of management ideas of painting and calligraphy in the early period of the Republic of China from such aspects as the standardized and vigorous implementation of the remunerations of painters and calligraphers, the enhancement of competition consciousness in the circle of painting and calligraphy market, the abundant marketing strategies in the painting and calligraphy market, and the production of calligraphers and painters’ awareness of responsibility.
