The Verification Method of Pre-Qin Colors

Abstract:The thesis is an attempt to “restore vision through language” by focusing on the method of verifying Pre-Qin colors. The crucial point for the linguistic records of pre-Qin colors finally rests with five color words: Qing, Chi, Huang, Bai and Hei. By verifying the corresponding real objects of these color words and describing the general color picture of the real objects through the internationally accepted LAB system, the thesis constructs the visual system of the five colors in the pre-Qin period, and aims to digitally restore“five colors of pre-Qin.”
