Teaching Theory of Art in University:A Discussion of Theory-oreinted Courses and Aesthetic Education

Abstract:Painting and calligraphy theory course taught at the university has a great impact on art students, and the public courses of painting and calligraphy theory can be beneficial for universal learning, transmitting traditional value and aesthetic concepts. It also has profound effects on cultivating non-art students’aesthetic appreciation and thinking ability. While continuingly performing well in professional theory teaching, we should also effectively transform the teaching approach, and gradually make the professional art course in higher education accessible to non-art students. This is to promote university students’artistic quality and artistic thinking so as to improve the spiritual and cultural life of the whole society.
