Scholars also called it “folk tunes”. It had been nearly two hundred years since early time of the Ming Dynasty, it was difficult to trace the original tone. We conducted an investigation on the preservation of Pop music in the Ming and Qing Dynasties in Jiangsu province and found that Quyi (Chinese folk art forms) has been well inherited and some local opera music was also preserved but folk ditties disappeared.
